Beverley is a remarkable architectural gem, with the fabulous medieval St. Mary's, and then the truly majestic Beverley Minster and more! Set in the centre of this mainly Georgian market town is Best Western The Lairgate Hotel.
Certainly built in part before 1700 and for very many years was a fine town house with a remarkable hall and staircase, actually it is a number of old houses now joined together. We pride ourselves on the considerable character of the Lairgate, as we do on the friendly atmosphere of the hotel. Recently enhanced by major refurbishment and extension work it has one of the grandest Georgian entrance halls in East Yorkshire, and now boasts one of the finest restaurants in the region - The Bechstein. The ambience of this softly lit air-conditioned setting is super. At the rear of the hotel there is a secluded patio area which provides an ideal suntrap - weather permitting! With all this wealth of history, fabulous buildings, shopping and umpteen 'you must visits' it is a great place to spend some time.
